Junior Fall Programming

It's the end of the world and hordes of rampaging zombies are about to kill you. What do you do? Try your hand at kung fu against the undead? Attempt to reason with creatures that would rather eat brains than use them? Turn to this handy and hilarious guide to survive the apocalypse! (Hint: sacrifice the weak is step number one.)


This 40 minute play will be performed LIVE at The Freeman Gardens following COVID guidance from both the CDC and NJ COVID-19 Information Hub.

Rehearsals will be held outdoors from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. Note that not all performers will be called to every rehearsal or may not be called to the full rehearsal time in order to keep gatherings as small as possible.

Students/staff will be required to:

  • Wear masks at all times
  • Maintain social distancing at all times
  • Submit an electronic COVID prescreen form before every rehearsal/performance
  • Not attend a rehearsal or performance based on the responses to the COVID prescreen form
  • Wash hands utilizing provided hand sanitizer upon arrival at rehearsals/performances

Failure to comply with these required safety provisions will result in removal from the program without a refund of paid tuition.

The small town of Maverick, Mississippi is rocked when the beloved Mayor is found murdered early one morning. The police chief rounds up the suspects as the town tries to discover who committed the murder. Use your acting skills to bring to life the characters of the town as you learn the dark history of Maverick’s citizens, all while trying to protect your own secrets. Uncover overlapping conspiracy theories, criminal enterprises and a terrible plot as you narrow down your suspects. Trust no one, suspect everyone. Class capped at 10 students to ensure equal involvement and character depth.

Timothy Van Bloem is an undergraduate honors student at Northeastern University, majoring in Music Industry. There, he performs with the award winning collegiate a cappella group, The Nor’easters. Having been involved with Gas Lamp for almost a decade, Tim has been a counselor, stage crew, and intern at over a dozen Gas Lamp productions, in addition to performing in multiple musical theater shows.
