Foundations of Musical Theater

1st and 2nd Grade

Unleash your child’s creativity and confidence on stage with this perfect stepping stone to our fall Kids Workshop productions. Over six weeks, students meet once a week for one hour to explore theater through a playful, supportive curriculum. Each session balances the three core pillars of musical theater.

First, introductory dance builds rhythm, coordination, and spatial awareness through movement games. Next, young actors dive into improvisation with theater games that spark imagination, quick tinking, and collaborative storytelling. Finally, the workshop incorporates gentle vocal discovery exercises to help students find their unique speaking and singing voices.

Through this dynamic blend of music, movement, and play, children learn to express themselves boldly while building valuable teamwork skills. Students should bring a water bottle and arrive dressed in comfortable clothes and sneakers, ready to let their imaginations soar.
